Welcome to Cañon City Blitz!

About Cañon City Blitz Soccer

Established in 1986, the Blitz operates under the formal organization of the Cañon City Youth Soccer Association (CCYSA) which provides competitive soccer opportunities to Fremont County’s youth, including players from Cañon City, Florence, and Penrose. Our program is available to any local youth; we offer teams from Under-11 to Under-19 age groups, depending on the number of players registered, and we’re always looking to add more teams. Over the years, Cañon City Blitz Soccer has become known statewide as a soccer program able to compete with elite soccer clubs across Colorado. Our teams travel primarily along the Front Range of Colorado, with occasional games as far as Steamboat Springs, CO or Cheyenne, WY.

Blitz Soccer Is All About Community!

Cañon City Blitz Soccer is more than just a club - we’re a community! We purposefully aim to create a strong sense of connection among our players and their families. Our teams typically stay together for several years as players grow together and build lasting bonds of friendship. Our Blitz Soccer Coaches and Team Managers are volunteers with a passion for soccer and teaching our youth. We focus on developing well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the field, believing that outstanding players become outstanding citizens.

Blitz Soccer offers a unique and rewarding experience for players of all ages and skill levels. Join us today and become part of the Blitz family!

Our Club Organization

The Cañon City Youth Soccer Association (CCYSA) is operated as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and led by a volunteer Board of Directors. The CCYSA is a member of the Colorado Soccer Association, which is governed by US Youth Soccer.

Our Blitz Logo

The Cañon City Blitz Soccer logo was redesigned in 2022 to be a modern, simple graphic imbued with symbolism that represents our community. The Blitz club name features prominently across the top in bold white text on a black background. The colors of the shield are black, white, and gold, which recalls the region’s gold mining history. Two concentric “C’s” in the center of the emblem are pierced by a lightning bolt; “blitz” means “lightning” in the German language and represents the energetic fighting spirit of our club. Three vertical gold stripes stand for the three largest communities in Fremont County that make up the Blitz community: Cañon City, Florence, and Penrose. The three jagged peaks across the top of the shield are emblematic of the iconic hogback rock formations where the historic downtown of Cañon City meets the mountains.

Our Field Location

All Blitz practices and home games are held at Mountain View Park in Cañon City, Colorado. The south field (Field 1) is full size for 11v11 games and the north field (Field 2) is smaller for 9v9 games.
